Trouble with Emulator connecting XDS510USB

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2810

I am using a Spectrum Digital XDS510USB JTAG emulator in attempts to connect to a TMS320F2810 using CCS3.3.   Using WinXp,  CCS3.3 was installed first, followed by installing the XDS510SB drivers.  The emulator was hooked up to the USB port, "new hardware was found," and drivers found.   However I seem to be having trouble with my emulator.

I have run the "Emmulator Connection Verification" test via Configuration- then Verify and I get the expected resutls as on the JTAG_mmulator_guide section 2.1.2.    However if I try section 2.1.3 SDConfig Emulator/Target Connection test, no JTAG scans are found.

If I try "Emulator rest" I get:

ERROR >> XDS510 Rset Failed

ERROR>> Emulator failed rest

Any suggestions would be apprecaited

  • I have tried two different laptops with two different emulators and no luck,.

We have a pc at a different facility used to program the boards.  Is it possible to copy configuration files from this known working PC and have them emailed to me to make sure my issue is not set up problems with SDSconfig?

Given the failure of the emulator to reset, could this be a problem of  the set up in code composer or SDSconfig?

Given the failure of the emulator to reset, what pins should I investiage with a scope ?

Sounds like your PC<->XDS510USB connection is ok, but your XDS510USB<->F2810 is not.

But vould you explain your comment "no JTAG scans are found"? I would expect some failure messages at least.

    Thanks
