CCS can't build the project

Hi Experts,

Today, My CCS just crashed and closed itself. I don't know why. After I restart it and I try to compiler my project, an error message window just shows up which tells me that the "build project"  has encountered a problem. You can check it as the following picture.

How can I fix it?

Thanks,

Ken

  • Hi Ken,

one thing to try is a fresh workspace.  Do you see this with all projects?

Could you please enable logging and send any error logs?

  • Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your quick reply! Yes, all of the projects are with the same problem.

I'll try to make a fresh workspace and check what's going on.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Ken

  • Hi Ken,

    ok, please keep us informed.

  • Hi Lisa,

Since I have installed two version of CCS in my laptop, CCSV5.2 and CCSV5.3.  I just try to use the CCSv5.3 to debug my project, but there is also an error occur. It tells me that my development board can't connect to my computer. you can check the following information for the error:

IcePick: Error connecting to the target: (Error -2131 @ 0x0) Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 5.0.952.0)

Is there something wrong with my configuration of  CCS project?

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Ken

  • Hi Ken,

one problem at a time.  Do you only see the build error in one of your installations (if so which one just to confirm)?  Have you imported the project into v5.3?  Does the emulator work with the other version?

I think it is best to isolate one thing at a time.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  •  Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your advice. The build error is only exist on the CCV5.2. So I just import my project to CCSV5.3 for a try. It can build the project, but can not connect to my board for debugging.

    Thanks and Best Regards

    Ken

  • Hi Ken,

in 5.3 could you please try recreating your target configuration file?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your information, but recreating the target configuration file doesn't work. what about the error message which like the following, is that any useful for us to check the reason of  the error or is there anything else that I can do to help you to get the reason of it?

IcePick: Error connecting to the target: (Error -2131 @ 0x0) Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 5.0.952.0)

    Thanks,

    ken

  • Hi Ken,

I think the next step is to determine whether this is a driver issue or configuration issue.  However a few further details will help.

What target and emulator are you using?  Do you work with the emulators on other boards in v5.2 and v5.3 without any problems?

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Ken,

just thought I would check whether there is any update with your enquiry.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
