CCS v5.3.0.0042 - Update Error - XP OS

When attempting to "Check for updates", CCS following message appears with series of attempts to update:

"Cannot complete install because of conflicting dependencies"

I have not renewed my license for two reasons:

1) I was told that I can update/upgrade all CCS v5 with the license I presently have.  ?Thus, this is not the issue?

2) I have not been able to use v5.x due to a series of issues, so far all projects have been compiled in v4.x

Please let me know how I may move forward so that I can use CCS v5.x on my next project.

  • Hi,

Please take a look at the updates you see when you run the "check for updates". Select only the CCS update; there are some conflicting eclipse ones that are probably giving you the errors you see. Please let me know if this helps.

  • Thanks you for the very fast response!

I unselected all of the updates in the right screen with the following:

    org.eclips. ... bla-bla-bla

    The update started successfully :)

The drive I was installing it to ran out of space, the download killed the whole CCS program :(

Looks like an uninstall and reinstall of the latest version of CCS again!

Still have never used CCS v5.x!!!!!!!

  • I'm glad removing the extraneous eclipse links helped your update start. Too bad about the disk space issues. The install checks for space, but the update can't, unfortunately.

Please keep me informed if you run into any issues installing CCS5.x.

  • I can not remove the install of CCS v5.3, the program has been corrupted by the partial update, then running out of space.

I have options listed below, please comment on the best option so that I can still use my old version of CCS v4:

    1. Down load CCS5.3.0.00090 and install over the top of previous install in same directory?

    2. Delete everything in previous directory for CCS v5, do a register clean and hope it removes all the old entries for CCS? Then install new version.

    3. Install the old version of CCS 5.3 in same directory, then remove, then install new version?

    4. You suggest the best option because I do not know.

  • You can safely delete everything in the corrupted folder. Download the latest 5.3.0 build and install it.  Option 2 is the best way to go.
