Code Composer Studio Update Sites (Linux)

Hi Ki,

Thanks for your reply.  I've done a clean install for v5.5.  I notice though that the Available Software Sites for updates aren't populated by default, and I'd like to upgrade my compiler to 6.2.1 through the in-app interface.  Which sites do I need to add to my list?  Do you have the XML available?

I'm surprised it is empty. There should be many entries by default. Here is what mine looks like:

I can certainly provide an xml. What compiler family are you using?

Currently using 6.2.  (Note that I'm using the Linux version of CCSv5.5.  My colleagues that use the windows version have had no problems with the Available Software Sites)

I was looking for the family (C2000? ARM? MSP430? C6000?). I'm guessing C2000 since the latest version of those are 6.2.x but I just wanted to be sure.

yes, I understand. That screenshot I showed you was from my CCSv5.5 installed on my Ubuntu machine.

I'm still concerned why you don't have any update sites listed in your install. What linux distro are you using?

I've tried the XML and attempted to use the in-app software update.  Here's the error I get:

"C2800 Compiler Tools will be ignored because it is already installed, and updates are not permitted."

I have CCSv5.5 running in Ubuntu 13.10 also. Everything is working fine. i was able to update to C2000 compiler version 6.2.5.

Not sure what is going on with your install. It looks corrupted somehow. You can try a new install or if you don't want to bother, you can simply manually download and install it.

Hi Ki,

This is my third clean install with the same result.  My colleagues with linux installations are all seeing the exact same problem.  My suggestion is to have someone at TI actually try the install from the .tar.gz.  At this point, the issues I've explained here are what we're all seeing.

For anyone interested, I downloaded the version 6.2.5 compiler manually from here:

This is exactly what I've been doing too. It is actually the main way I install CCS.

Under what account do you install CCS? as root?

Do you install CCS with sudo? How exactly do you install it and where do you install it?

I've installed as root. I've also installed as user ans run the installer without sudo and then run the driver script with it. The latter was CCSv5.5.0.00077 on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit
