Data Converter Plug-in in CCS4

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7861, ADS1251, OMAPL138

Hello,

I want to generate a driver for the ADS7861 but I cannot find a Data Converter Plug-in Tool for CCS4. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

Cor

  • Cor,

We have been working on a stand-alone Data Converter Tool for use with CCS4 - different than in the past when the tool was integrated into CCS. This new tool has just moved under the responsibility of the Precision Analog group at TI (I manage the applications team for that group), and we're currently evaluating the possibilities to continue its development in the future.

In the meantime, if you can tell me which DSP you're targeting, I can post an example program that uses the ADS7861 driver - it would have been generated from the CCS3.3 tool, but you should be able to bring that forward into CCS4 with minimal work.

  • Hello Rick,

Thank you very much for your help.

I want to use three ADS7861 in parallel  and two ADS1251 in parallel. All should be synchronously sampling at 10KHz. I want to target them on the OMAPL138 processor.

  • Hmmm... that's 5, or maybe 7, serial ports you need. While the OMAP has plenty, this could be challenging managing the data transfers.

I'd like to discuss your application further, to see if we can come up with a friendlier solution - I've started a thread in the Precision Data Converters forum. Let's continue the conversation there, since it doesn't relate to CCS.
