How do I create an Intel-HEX format image with the hex utility?

I have old tools that require a different format Intel-HEX file. I have reviewed SLAU131C but I do not see a way to change the byte count.

Is there a way to change the byte count in the Intel-HEX output?

Know of any tools that convert the Hex files from 32 to 16 byte count? I have tried a couple free tools without any luck.

No, but I have an idea of how you could write a custom tool that creates the Intel hex you need from a TI executable .out file. The cg_xml package http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Code_Generation_Tools_XML_Processing_Scripts includes a script named bootimage. Both an executable and the Perl source are in the package. As supplied it outputs a relatively simple hex format. You could change it to output the exact Intel format you need. I realize this solution is not easy and simple. But it is better than nothing.
