CCS/TMDSDSK6713: Last CCS version to use

Dear Forum

Time ago I was using the DSK6713 ,with a older version of CCS .

I have also the Blackhawk USB560M ,14 PIN Jtag Emulator

Is my intention to develop new project on the TMS320 C6713 (as my DSK) and ,after a while, move to TMS320 C6748

Excuse me in advance for many question in one message.

Question are:

1) Reading part of forum, i see that last CCS available with this DSK is the CCSV5 . I followed this link

*The CCSV5 is again the last i can use ?

*Rumming the 6713SDKDiag.exe i get fail,also coping all in the same folder as previous link suggest

2)In case I wish to use the Emulator USB560M, why I cant use the last CCS ? I means, JTAG access to the 6713

like if the DSK would be a custom board..or not ? If yes, the only problem could be to access the CPLD for drive the LED

and read the switch ?

Roberto,

You can use C6713 devices with the latest CCSv9.3.0. The issue is that the XDS510 class debug on the DSK board is not supported. If you are using an external Blackhawk debug probe that would be fine.

So is the -internal debug- not supported,

Do you belive the DSK init the CPLD before use this CPLD, or I can just access to the CPLD via 6713

emif, ,as written in datasheet of DSK?

Hi Mr John

I moved to next step.

As you know, Im tryng to Use the blackhawk 560USB Emulator on DSK6713.

The debug is connect via JTAG

Compiler version is 7.4.24.

For test the emulator connection i just do:

Project-->Property->general and press buttom --Verify--,

the test is OK.I get the result:

--- The JTAG DR Integrity scan-test has succeeded---

Now i try to debug a simple Hello Word exmple.

Here i get problem..

I go in --Debug Config--, --New Config--,

In --Targhet Config-- i puth the project path-,

but I cant choose the emulator for debug,and I cant choose the specific CPU

for debug.

Where is my error?

Hi Roberto,

I believe you can write directly to the CPLD registers.
