PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: AMIC110 ICE - Running example projects

Hi Karthik,

The example projects can run in one of two ways:

1. through CCS. You can load the .out file to the board and run via CCS. Please refer to the getting started guide of Processor-SDK Developer's Guide for detailed information.

2. through SBL. You'll need to convert the .out file to SBL application image. Please refer to AM335x Bootloader section of Processor-SDK Developer's Guide for detailed information.

             I could not exactly follow the steps which states TOOLCHAIN and etc.

            But, correct me if I am wrong:

          - I should change the .out file to _a8host_ti.bin

           Am I right? If yes, how do I do it?

Hi Kathik,

TOOLCHAIN refers to GCC ARM tool chain that is packaged within the Processor-SDK. You should see a folder named "gcc-arm-none-eabi-xxx", e.g. "gcc-arm-none-eabi-7-2018-q2-update", in the SDK installation directory. You'll find "arm-none-eabi-objcopy" in gcc-arm-none-eabi-xxx\bin. Alternatively, you can find similar tool chain in <ccs installation folder>\ccs\tools\compiler.

As I mentioned, if you want to run your program as an SBL application, you'll need to convert the .out file to _ti.bin. Please follow the instructions in Binary format conversion procedure.

Hi Jianzhong,

             I was able to conver .out file to _ti.bin file.

            So to flash this file, 

                      - first run the flash writer tool from starteware

                      - flash the bootloader at 0H

                      - rerun the flash writer tool

                      - flash the _ti.bin at 0x20000H

Yes, if you are flashing McSPI, that's the correct procedure.

          In the link you have sent ; PRSDK RTOS developer's guide, there is no AMIC110 ICE Evaluation board. That is why I asked you . Please help me here
