Does CCS6.2 support OMAP5912?

I assume you are using one of the DSP/BIOS software releases from here? https://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_registered_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bios/index.html

It looks like the last release of DSP/BIOS does support OMAP5912, and was intended to be used with CCSv5.1:

Note that parts that are supported on older versions of CCS may not be supported on newer versions of CCS if there are no new software releases for the parts. If you need any help with CCS, let us know and I'll send your question to the CCS team.

Thanks for your reply. 

I do not require DSP/BIOS support as I am working on a legacy bare-metal code which runs on the C55x core of the OMAP5912 chip. (Or does having a specific DSP/BIOS version affect the project even if we are working on a bare-metal code? ) I do see that CCS6.2 supports TMS320C55x device but not the OMAP5912. 

Is there any chip support package that I can add to CCS6.2 which will make it to recognize OMAP5912?

Hello Dimple,

Even if you are not using DSP/BIOS, my post above tells you that CCS5.1 definitely works with OMAP5912.

Hi Ki,

This means I will have to manually build the target configuration for OMAP5912. I will try it out. 

Is there a CCS version that supports OMAP5912 device and also the Blackhawk USB560v2 JTAG emulator for debug?

Current versions of CCS support the 560v2 and the CPUs that comprise of the OMAP5912 (ARM9, C55x).

However, you may want to also take a look at trying out CCS 8.3.1 since it has support of the OSK5912 and has the startup GEL files for it. Please see the link in my last post for more details.

My Target board using the OMAP5912 is a custom board. Will the OSK5912 GEL files help in that case?
