AM263x CCS issues on variant and core. AM2631 core instead AM263x!!!

Hi Kowshik,

CCS proposed me to install the update. I stepped into the wizard procedure and then I restarted the CCS when it was asked me to do that.

Hi Gianni,

Can you please go to the targetconfiguration of your project and click on the ".ccxml" file please? Then change your device to AM263x and it should now reflect in the project properties as well.

I wasn't able to open the project, the meta data was corrupted. Please export the project using the below steps.

In the end, provide the export destination and it should give you the proper zip, Send me that please.

Apologize for the inconvinience.

This is a CCS bug and we will fix it in the next update.

Could you please follow the below steps:

1. Go to .ccxml file in target config.

2. Choose the AM2634 from the Board or Device drop down.

3. Save the configuration.

4. Rebuild the project.

5. Try to debug it Even if the variant information is unchanged and still shows Am2631, you should be able to see all the 4 cores.

Yes currently the MCU SDK doesnot support the device package you updated to. 

Hence its not dependent on the CCS version, but the Device support package version.

Were you able to resolve the issue by changing the ccxml and trying to load the code?

Yes I was able to resolve the issue settings AM263x on ccxml file.

But, is there a chance to reset the AM263x variant and core on the project settings or do we need to wait a new CCS release?

Just as an furter information, I already checked that if I removed or closed all the projects from CCS, unistall CCS and then reinstalled it, when I imported again the projects everything worked properly till the updates.

Yes this will be fixed in the next device package update.

This should be rolled out before the next CCS release.

Yes you are right. only when the package is updated this issue occurs. The older version is properly supported by the SDK.
