CCS 12.2 issue

Dear all,

we are having problem with our Sitara AM263x project after installing CCS version 12.2. This issue was not present using CCS version 12.1.

Specifically, in AM263x.ccxml we cannot find Am263x device. So, when we run debug the following window error appears.

    Hello,

    I don't see an AM263x.xml file in my CCS 12.2 installation. I do see it in CCS 12.1. I assume you are trying to use a ccxml file you created in CCS 12.1 with CCS 12.2. I suggest creating a new ccxml file in CCS 12.2.

    As for why the AM263x.xml file no longer comes with CCS 12.2, I do not know. These files come from the device team. I will bring this thread to the attention of the device experts.

    Yes, I've already tried to use the ccxml file that I had on CCS 12.1 and it works.

    It would be very interesting to understand why the AM263x.xml is no more present on CCS 12.2. Hope somebody can clarify this point.

    Hi Gianni.

    The original AM263x device XML has been split into files with specific OPN numbers. This means that AM263x no longer exists and now has been replaced by the AM2634, AM2632, and AM2631 OPN XMLs, where AM263x.xml = AM2634.xml

    This is because the AM263x.xml showed 4 R5 cores available when debugging in CCS, which could lead to confusion when using different AM263x OPNs that do not support 4 cores, so the decision was made to change this to make the # of cores supported more explicit in the XMLs' name.
