So what method is used to set up the memory map instead of RTSC Platform?

I think that with GEL it is possible to set the settings during debugging, but not during standalone operation.

I believe you are referring to the CCS debugger memory map:

I believe this is different that the memory map setup being done by RTSC. This memory map is likely related to the linker memory map:

To manually set up the application memory map, you can create your own linker command file as mentioned in the article I referenced earlier:
