LM3S9B96_CCSV4_SUPPORT

Hi all,

I am having Code Composer Studio V4.2.1. When I want to create new ccv4 project i have only options to MSP430 and C2000. I want to compile code for LM3S9B96 microcontroller.

How to compile code for LM3S9B96 in CCV4.2.1. Please let me know about this.

Thanks & Regards,

Mah

  • Hello Mah,

For CCSv4 there was a microcontroller license for the MSP430 and C2000 families only.  This appears to be what you might be using.

If this is what you are using then you will need to install another version of CCS which will give you Stellaris Support.  The best options are to do a trial of CCS - full version - or you have the option to use the free limited license on this second installation which would be free to use with the XDS100 emulator and the on board stellaris debug interface which comes on evaluation boards.

    Please see this wiki

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Licensing_-_CCS

If you have a purchased, full license, then the next step would be both to upgrade to the latest version (4.2.4 or else v5) and also add support for the Stellaris devices.  This can be done via the update option under Help as well.

    Please keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the reply. Is there any trail version of CCS that having stellaris support?. If so were can i download it. I am using my own board not any evaluation kits.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Mah

  • Hi Mah,

    you can download CCS here.

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

When it first runs, it will ask you about the license.  You can choose to do the evaluation which will get you started.  As mentioned, with the XDS100 or Stellaris ICDI, you should be able to use CCS free  (Free limited license).

    All the best with development.
