CCS license Re-host Failure

Hi, 

I have a TI CCS4's license. Recently, I changed my laptop and want to transfer the lic to the new laptop. 

I just follow the guidance of Register in CCS which leads me to a link:

https://focus-webapps.ti.com/licreg/swreghomepage.tsp?toPerform=getActivatableItems

I choose "manage activated software"

and "Re-host" to the new MAC address. 

However, when I set the lic to new generated TI lic file. It seems no work!!

By the way, the license is brought from TI China. However, the laptop is brought  outside china. Will it be an issue?

  • Hi Jianbin,

    it should not matter where you bought your license/pc.    DId you enter the correct MAC address?  What exact error message are you getting or what makes you think the rehosted license is not being accepted?  Did you point CCS to the new license file? 

    COuld you please provide a bit further information.

    I pretty sure I input the correct MAC address. Actually I did twice. In first time, I only input wireless MAC. In the 2nd time, I input wireless and wired MAC.

    Now actually it is a little bit wierd. I just check the license again. After click the "manage" , I couldn't find Re-Host option anymore.

    How many times can the license be re-hosted?

    You know, in the new laptop I just use 30days free trial version. After I choose the new generated the lic-file, the days is stil counting, even I restarted the CCS and computer. It should be shown "licensed", right?

  • Hi Jianbin,

    ok a few comments here

    - you should not use the MAC of your Wireless adapter.  Use ONLY the hardware one. 

    - you can only rehost yourself once.  After this you need to contact ccs_subscriptions@list.ti.com

    - when CCS is using an evaluation license, it will not look for another license until the trial has expired.  So if you are on an evaluation license, you will have to wait to make sure things are ok unfortunately.

    It's pretty long time since the question has been answered, but I have one more question about licensing transfer.

    Could you let me give a comment for CCS user transfer from 'A' to 'B'. For example, if 'A' person leave the company and 'B' person replaced the job.
    In that case, the owner of the CCS should be replaced from 'A' to 'B'. (Assume B can access the TI website using A's email address.)
