Hi David,

I would update by Help->Check for Updates.  I would not install over an old version as this causes issues.

If you would like to see the sites you can manage them in Window->Preferences->Install/Update and expand the Available sites list.

I have two sites listed:

The first gives an error:

"Could not find: http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/xdais/index.html"

The second lists nothing.

Please will you help me fix this?

I want to install the CCS 5.3 update. This is what I tried:

1) Help > Install new software

2) I selected this update site:

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv5/Updates

3) Ticked CCSv5 Service Releases

4) Ticked CCSv5 Service Release Linux

5) Then got message:

Cannot complete the request.  See the error log for details.
CCSv5 Service Release Linux will be ignored because it is already installed, and updates are not permitted.

How can I install 5.3 please?

Hi David,

the best would be a fresh installation to a new directory.  Could you send a screenshot and your install/update logs?  These are found as follows:

If you're installing as a non-root user, it goes in ~/.installjammerinfo/. If you're root, it goes in /var/lib/installjammer/

You should see a ccsv5 folder.

What do you see under Help->About Code Composer Studio?

I am trying to look into this with a couple colleagues for you but please expect a couple delays with the holiday season here.    A couple things that are worth knowing/checking.  What Linux distribution are you on?  Have you been running everything consistantly?  Ie always logged in as the same user?  Always running and launching with the same permissions (ie sudo or user consistantly)?

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32-bit.  Yes, I've been running everything consistently.  Only user is me. I usually run CCS as user, but have done so as sudo.

ok, responses will be slow as holidays are upon us but one thing to make sure is to do everything with the same permissions as the initial installation.  ie if you installed as sudo/root launch CCS and run any updates or further activities as sudo.

Thanks for your answer. Running CCS as sudo did indeed allow me to access the CCS 5.3 update, which I installed.  However, when I now start ccs (as sudo) I get a message box that states:

"Error: Unable to find a manifest file, download seems incomplete, cannot proceed. "

Closing the dialog closes CCS.

How should I proceed please?
