Hello,
I've downloaded Code Composer Studio Microcontroller Core Edition and the .ZIP is simply cumbersome!, 362 MB. When installing the IDE I've selected to install MSP430-only Core Tools (i.e., I haven't selected the C2000 Core Tools) to reduce the size, but even so the application reports it needs 360.52 MB in order to be installed.
My inquiry is: being this version of CCS Eclipse-based, how is it that it needs such an enormous amount of space to get installed?, does it come with the full Eclipse stuff, e.g., Java Runtime Environment?, I already have a JRE and don's want to install another one, I'm not a JRE-collector :-), many other Eclipse-based tools are installed as a plug-in an consume much less resources, e.g., the Symphony™ Studio IDE from Freescale, also Eclipse-based, comes archived inside a 55 MB .ZIP (actually I haven't tried to install it so I cannot say the required hard disk space it needs). I was thinking on installing CCS in this way, as a plug-in on an already existing Eclipse installation on my computer.
Is it possible to download a plug-in so that it can be installed as described?
Thanks,
Juan
