Reinstall CCS3.3 Eval Ver

Hi,

I was using CCS3.3 120-days Evl Ver for F2812 target. And I had migrated to CCS4 32K MCU Code Limited Ver. I could build the migrated project in CCS4 with the guidelines from the web. Now I have some problems with Simulating/Emulating (SD SPI515PP) the target. CCS3.3 was installed on a Win2K PC and the Eval period was expired and hence it was unistalled. CCS4 was installed on another PC. Now I would like to work in parallel with CCS3.3 until everything is OK with CCS4. So I tired to reinstall CCS3.3 on the same PC and the attempt was in vain.

I uninstalled the application from Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. First time while reinstalling, I received the message "Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I follwed as per http://community.ti.com/forums/t/6030.aspx#.com and tried to reinstall after restarting the PC. Before each reinstallation I done the registry clean as mentioned in http://tiexpressdsp.com/index.php/CCS_3.x_Bug_Workarounds. Finally I could reinstall CCS3.3 but just before installation was finish, it showed '0 days remains message'. Any way to get 120 days more?

  • Hi Sinoj,

I think CCS3.3 eval version counts the number of days from the 1st day of installation. After that no matter how many times you install or uninstall CCS, the count of the number of days remaining remains the same ( it does not get reset to 120 days after reinstalaltion). Also, this generally happens when you are reinstalling on the same PC.

One way could be installing CCS3.3 on a completely different PC. Another way could be download evaluation version again or contact TI for an update of the same eval version. You can also try interchanging the instalaltions of CCS3.3 and CCS4, i.e. CCS3.3 on CCS4 PC and vice versa.

Maybe TI experts can suggest you more solutions/workarounds.

    Regards,

    Sid

  • Sid is correct that the CCSv3.3 free eval tool counts the number of days since your install.  Reinstalling will not help.  Once you have used up your 120 days that is it, there is no way to extend, we phyiscally don't have a way to do it.  In v4 we can.
