RE: USB Debug Interface driver change

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Hi Lisa

I accidentally upgraded an MSP-FET430UIF, which I use for our old GNU tool setup. It requires V2, therefore I have downgrade it again.

Can you please send the file containing the upgrade/downgrade utility as well?

On older versions of CCS, this utility was included and I have used it. But after some upgrades of CCS (presently V6) this utility is not included, at least not in the default installation.

Best regards,

Mats Q

  • Hi Mats,

first of all, you put this on a two year old post so are lucky that it was caught.  In future please open a new thread.

The upgrade/downgrade utility does not come stand alone.  I recommend using the free flash programmer from Elprotronic to do the version switch.  (www.elprotronic.com)

    Best regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa

    Problem solved, thanks a lot!

I had the Elprotronic SW installed, and after your information I looked in the start menu under Elprotronic and found both an upgare and a downgrade tool. I used it and now I can use this MSP-FET with my old setup.

Is there an install option for CCS that includes the up/downgrade utility? On previous CCS installations, I have got this utility installed beside the CCS (as you describe in this thread).

    Thanks a lot

  • Hi Mats,

thanks for the update and glad to hear.  Unfortunately it's no longer bundled for some reason.

    All the best with development.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
