thanks Gautam. i have double checked my hardware and it's fine. I am multiplexing the TDIO/RST pin with a reset push-button. could this be a problem?

David, here's your device specific interface for Spy-bi-wire:

Hi David,
what FET are you using? What OS? The new small black msp FET only works with v6 of CCS.
A couple further quick things. Have you tried a different cable or port? Have you been able to try on a different pc?
Best regards,
Lisa
Thanks Lisa.
I have tried a different pc with no luck. I'm unsure of the FET version as I don't have it with me. I am using ccs 5.5.0 on windows 7.
Dear Gautam,
thanks for the reply i will test it on monday without the 47K and the 330R resistors and add the 2.2 nF cap which was missing.

Sure Dave, do keep us informed.

Hi Gautam. It's working now on another machine . i removed the 330R and had a large capacitance on the RST pin which was also removed. I think these were the issues. thanks for everyone's help =)
