Where is "On-Chip Flash Programmer" of CCS6?

Can someone tell me how to use CCS6 to program processor TMS320C2801? I see my co-worker have an old laptop that runs CCSV3.3 and it works for programming the image into the processor by using "Tools -> On-Chip Programmer", but I am unable to find the similar of "On-Chip Programmer" on my CCSV6.

FYI, I am using Blackhawk USB510L JTAG, with a 90 days free trial version of CCSV6.

Hi Joe,

Starting with CCSv4, we tightly integrated the flash programmer with the CCS debugger. For example, if you are trying to program internal flash of an MCU, you simply just load the program and CCS will figure out that this program is to be flashed and automatically flash it for you. See:

My previous reply is supposed to have a screenshot, but I can't seem to find it.

Here is the error when using "Run -> Load -> Load Program":

C28xx: Loader: One or more sections of your program falls into a memory region that is not writable. These regions will not actually be written to the target. Check your linker configuration and/or memory map.

Any ides?

Yes you are getting a type of data verification error. See the below FAQ:

Hi Ki,

My problem is solved. After changing my target to be TMS320F2808 (I was told it was TMS320C2801), the flashing works right away.

Good to hear. Specifying the wrong device would explain it because specifying a device would pull in the associated linker command files and memory maps, etc. It is important that everything matches up.
