CC3200LP getting started with CCS and WinXP: error logs where ?

While I've managed to get past the Uniflash and winXP bug I'm now getting stuck at the next step of the getting started guide.

When trying to install the CC3200 and TI-RTOS addons, first I get a null pointer exception when checking for updates, then could not install addons.
Where can I find the error logs ?

I'm getting lots of null pointer and other errors as I dig around, does CCS 6.1.0.00104 suffer from similar issues with winXP as uniflash ? What is the best supported OS to get started with ?

While a majority of users are on Windows 7, Win XP is still a supported OS for CCS.

If none of these match with the issues you are having, please post your install/error logs. This link tells you were to find the logs

OK, error log pointed to an issue with a truncated file, not clear on how it happened but did a re-install of CCS and managed to get through the steps in the getting started document.
