CCS v6 support for AM335x PRU

Hello:

I am working on an AM335x platform design and am interested in utilizing the PRU engines. I think CCSv6 has PRU support for the AM335X. Is the new CCS v6 still free as version 5.5 was? I’m able to compile AM335x apps with unlimited size on a Linux PC – is this still the case with the latest release?

I was not able to come to a conclusion with the collateral online.

Any feedback or input is welcomed and appreciated!

Hi Paul,
The licensing for v6 is similar to v5 and you can use the "free" license in v6 for unlimited code size project builds like you did with v5.

There is also a PRU workshop for AM335x which you may want to take a look at:

In addition to Ki's comments, the latest CCS release 6.1.1 has a project wizard that already populates all the necessary files for a basic PRU project. When creating a project, simply select the PRU basic template as shown below:
