ccsv4 ... Where is the "Exception Log"??

I'm working through a multi-core example for my EVM6474, it worked a couple times, then I made a few changes and one of the cores now crashes with the message:

"Exception abort! Check Exception Log for details."

Where is this log? I can't find it anywhere... not that it necessarly has anything useful int it.

It's probably referring to the Eclipse error log or JVM error logs:

nope ... most recent date in there is yesterday (which was the last time ccsv4 crashed)

So this is a case of the core crashing and not CCS right? i.e. the C64x+ CPU has the ability to throw exceptions.

yes, that's correct, in fact, only one of the cores crashes (of 3). Identical code runs on all three, and of course, due to the nature of the code, the other 2 cores hang on an event that is blocked due to 1 core down. Small change(s), recompile, re-load and it works again, so I'm curious what is introducing the sporatic instability.

Think the message is coming from BIOS. Are you running BIOS5 or BIOS6?

I found the following information for BIOS6:

Add the following lines to your config file and you will be able to view the Exception log entries using ROV. View the xdc.runtime.LoggerBuf module. var LoggerBuf = xdc.useModule('xdc.runtime.LoggerBuf');
var Exc = xdc.useModule('ti.sysbios.family.c64p.Exception');
Exc.common$.logger = LoggerBuf.create();
