CCS/MSP430FR2533: Uniflash support in WINDOW XP

Part Number: MSP430FR2533
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, MSP-FET

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi Champion

My customer used our MSP430 device, and will programming through MSP-FET and Uniflash.  But customer production line PC is Windows XP O/S, which cannot support latest version Uniflash.

Customer want to know whether have Uniflash or Other S/W can support in Windows XP.

ERIC

  • Eric,

UniFlash 3.4 is supported on Windows XP. It doesn't support FR2533 out of the box so that would need to be manually added in afterwards. Another option would be to use a solution from someone like Elprotronic. Perhaps something like: www.elprotronic.com/products

    Regards,
    John
  • HI John

Could  you tell how to manually add FR2533 after uniflash installed.

    Thanks.

  • This is how I did it.

From CCS I went to Help -> Install New Software

I selected the latest TI MSP430 Tool Chain package

I go through the installation until I get to this point:

Then I go to the eclipse/download folder in my CCS installation.  The installers for that update are present.

I then ran the installers for the ti_msp430pack_setup_7.3.0 and ti_msp430pack_support_files_setup_7.3.3

When they ask where to install I point them to my uniflash v3 folder

After doing that when I run uniflash I can select the FR2533.  Now I need to provide some disclaimers.  I don't have an FR2533 to check if this will enable programming.  I suspect that it will but I cannot confirm.  Technically this combination of files would not have gone through our validation suite as that MSP430 support package came out after the switch to UniFlash v4 and the support files there would not have been tested on Windows XP.
