Hello,

I am developing a TI-RTOS based application using the TMDSSK3358 starter kit. I have CCS v7.4 running on Windows.

1. In the CCS Resource Explorer I selected 'TMDSSK3358' but only see a 'loading' icon. Nothing ever loads. (?)

2. I would like to load & build a sample TI-RTOS project for this started kit. I tried to import one of the example projects (Project -> Import CCS Project -> (browse to ) C:\ti\bios_6_52_00_12\resources\tiTargetExamples\genericExamples, then select the 'hello' project. I get a popup stating: Error: device is either NULL or currently not recognized by CCS

What is needed to move forward?

3. What version of CCS should I be using for development on TMDSSK3358 with TI-RTOS? Can you please point me to an example project that CCS will load & build?

For TI-RTOS development on AM335x you will want to obtain the processor SDK RTOS. It is not available via Resource Explorer.
You can download it here: www.ti.com/.../PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X. I have passed this on to the Sitara team for help on which example to start with.

Using CCSv7.4 is fine.

As far as Resource Explorer for Sitara it mainly contains links to the device documentation. It does not enable you to browse through the examples in the SDK and download them. That said it should not be getting stuck like that. I do see that from time to time. If you close ccs check task manager for "node". If that is present kill it and then restart CCS. If not then we can try removing the /ti/tirex-localserver-3.1.3 folder from your user folder.

As John had mentioned above, the best way to get started is with the Processor SDK RTOS package for AM335x.
There are examples in the release located at C:\ti\pdk_am335x_1_0_9\packages\MyExampleProjects

The examples will have to be built by running a .bat file. Here is a video on how to do that training.ti.com/processor-sdk-device-drivers-setup-test

Thanks John. After closing CCS , task manager did not show a 'node' to kill. I also quit CCS then deleted my User/ti/tirex-localserver folder, but I am still not able to connect to the cloud after restarting CCS v7. Any ideas?

Was it /ti/tirex-localserver-3.1.3 or /ti/tirex-localserver-3.1.3 that you removed. For CCSv7.4 you will want to remove /ti/tirex-localserver-3.1.3 some older versions used a folder without a version number in it.

If it was /ti/tirex-localserver-3.1.3 that was removed I will need to loop in someone else to help us debug

Yes, I deleted c:/ti/tirex-localserver-3.1.3.

Company's proxy can sometime prevent tirex from connecting to the external cloud server. If you're able to try with no proxy that would be good to check. Does the 'loading' screen timeout after sometime? Can you attach a screenshot of what you see after about 3 minutes of launching tirex.

Also will you be ok with participating in a webEx if we need to have a look at you machine?

I'm not able to disable the proxy. When I start Tirex I see these 3 folders:
- Device Documentation
- Software
- Development Tools

When I click on them, I do see resulting content to the right side of the GUI. I see a clock-wise spinning activity icon, that continues (no 3 minute timeout.)

I can participate in a webex.
