Which microcontrollers are recommended for projects with functional safety standards?

Hi,

We are doing some new research on train brake these days. I know TI Hercules family, great functional safety microcontrollers but I am more familiar with Piccolo and Delfino MCUs. Therefore I am looking for one of appropriate TI MCUs belong to Piccolo and/or Delfino families which have functional safety standards that could be used in a train brake controller board as the main microcontroller. I'll say what standards are important for us in this project if it could help you to choose and suggest the most appropriate MCU better.

Hi Hossein,

Micro controllers from Piccolo and Delfino are supports features for functional safety. TI provides Safety Manual, FMEDA, SDL etc. to enable customers to get started on the functional safety development using C2000 MCU's

Please refer to Safety Manuals of specific devices available below. FMEDA are available on request.

TMS320F2837xD/S and TMS320F2807x Safety Manual UG (Rev. B)

C2000 devices are developed according to functional safety compliant process to with highest systematic capability of ASIL-D/SIL-3.

Thank you for the complete reply.
I mostly work with TMS320F2807x so I want to know when all cells in the row belong to this family in the table above will be filled with the word YES?

Another question that comes to my mind because of curiosity>>>> is there any relation between the part number and having certification of safety standards? For example those MCUs that their forth digit after middle F is 7, have more safety certification.
