CCS/TMDSEMU110-ETH: Bad energy trace data was detected in the data stream

I'm using EnergyTrace on the TMDSEMU110-U + TMDSEMU110-ETH.

After launching EnergyTrace with Run > Free Run, data acquisition starts but stops after a while, here after 57 s, with the error message

Bad energy trace data was detected in the data stream

I'm running CCS 8.1.0.00011 on Windows 10 and targetting the CC1310 LaunchPad.

The same issues raises again even after I start CCS again. How to fix it? Thank you.

If I use the TMDSEMU110-U alone without the TMDSEMU110-ETH on the exact same conditions, the error no longer appears.

The TDSEMU110-ETH has a very high sampling rate (256k samples/sec) and likely CSS is unable to keep up for long runs hence resulting in the error.

The TMDSEMU110 has a lower sampling rate (2k samples/sec) and is not resulting in an error.

What is your usage need? If the intent is to measure energy consumption over a long time then use TMDSEMU110. If the intent is to see a high resolution power profile of your application use the TDSEMU110-ETH for a short run (10-15 sec).

Thank you for the explanation, it makes sense.

Is there an option to lower the sampling rate when the TDSEMU110-ETH is connected to the TMDSEMU110-U, to avoid removing il and then stacking it again?

Unfortunately, at this time there is no option to change the sampling frequency.

Thank you for the answer. Please add the software selection of sampling frequency (or turning the TMDSEMU110-ETH on and off) to the list of wanted features!
