CCS/CC2650RC: Flashing hid_adv_remote project

Part Number: CC2650RC

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I am having trouble flashing the hid_adv_remote project onto the CC2650RC.  I follow all the instructions in the wiki processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC2650RC_Getting_Started_with_Development.

I use a Debug Devpack to connect the PC to the CC2650RC, and after all the steps (running Debug on the stack and then on the app), all logs tell me everything worked fine but I end up with a 'dead' CC2650RC.

I have to reload the original firmware via the SmartRF Programmer 2 to get it back to its original function.

Could you tell me what am I doing wrong please?

  • Hi,

What do you mean it's not working? Can you elaborate a bit more?
  • Sure. The device doesnt respond anymore. No LED blinking, no noise, nothing. It's basically a 'brick'. Then I flash it with the original firmware and it works again.
  • It works actually, sorry. For the sake of those who come to this thread with the same "issue", I have realised that the remote with the hid_adv_remote project actually works but it doesn't blink or make any noise but it is operating in BLE all the time (I guess). I managed to pair it with a smartphone and key some numbers and play with the volume buttons. What I had not realised is that the power and home buttons do not work anymore and do nothing. Also the OAD feature doesn't work anymore either. This is documented in the wiki but I had missed it. So to go back to the original firmware I assume that the only way is flash the remote with the SmartRF Programmer 2.
