Hello, I am evaluating the Stellaris LM3S2965 kit and I am using CCS version 4.1.2. I imported the driverlib folder from the StellarisWare folder,, but when I try to debug a project, I get the following error:

Exception occurred during launch

Reason:

Failed to initialize the Debug Server.

Reason:

Can't generate board data file C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\DebugServer\bin\win32\BrdDat\ccBoard0.dat

The output config file cannot be opened.

Gilmer,

Are you using Win7? If so the problem is likely that Win7 will lock down the Program Files folder and not allow programs to create files there. Typically you can workaround this by completely turning off user access control. In general we recommend that Win7 users install in a folder other than Program Files or Program Files (x86).

Thanks for the quick reply John, I am using Vista on my computer. I tried another machine (with vista on it) and it seems to work fine there. Any idea ?

Gilmer,

Vista and Win7 are very similar in how the protect the Program Files folder. Is it possible that the 2 machines have different UAC (User Access Control) settings?
