CCS/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X: do i need a EVM to debug

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello everyone,

i've an AM437 IDK Board and installed the CCS on a Windows 7 PC.

this is my first time using an Evaluationboard from TI, please be pation with me :)

First at all, i try to follow the Basic exaples (1.1.3.1.) "hello World" example with no operating system (as shown in this:

After creating the project with CCS and making a Test connection to the board the result of the test connection is:

"....

The JTAG DR Intergrity scan-test has succeeded.

[End: Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB Debug Probe_0]

..."

so, i think the connection is succesfull?

i connected the Board with the deliverd USB Cable.

but if i want to start to debug with the hello world code the CCS gives an error code:

"...

Error connecting to the target:

(Error - 1266 @ 0x0)

Device is held in reset. Take the device out of reset, and retry the operation.

(Emulation package. 8.0.903.6)

..."

my question:

- why is the board on reset, how can i un reset it?

- do i need more hardware device between the PC and the Board? like an Debuger board?

Best regards,

I.T.
