CCS/MSP430F2013: could not find hardware

Part Number: MSP430F2013
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-TS430PW14, MSP-FET, MSP430G2553

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

The code Composer could not find the MSP-TS430PW14, how to fix this?

  • Aaron,

    Is an MSP-FET being used to connect the MSP-TS430PW14 to your PC?

    John

  • when I click detect my board, I got this error

    Error

    {"msg":"COM5: Could not connect to FET on ( 35: No error).","name":"COM5","type":"error"}

  • Aaron,

    I think you are clicking on the detect my board button in Resource Explorer:

    I am on Mac but I get a similar error when I plug in an MSP-FET and a connected board.  I will file a but to track that.

    That feature is going to work best with LaunchPads.  For boards other than LaunchPads I would just browse the content in Resource Explorer.  The detect board feature will just filter the content in Resource Explorer to match the board you are using.

    That MSP-TS430PW14 board is a socketed board that you can place different devices in.  If you want to can enter in the device you are using into the device filter.  For example if you a G2553 in the socket you could enter MSP430G2553 in the filter.

    That will filter the contents in Resource Explorer to just what is relevant to that device.

    Regards,

    John
