CCS/SM320VC33-EP: CC version needed and blackhawk driver to communicate to VC33 processor

We had an old computer that the HD failed and we are trying to connect with or a Blackhawk usb560M emulator.

I am unable to get a version of Code composer and USB560M driver to install. When we install the version below, the driver installs and the setup accepts it but when CC tries to open it says it is not compatible. I have also tried newer CCSv3.3 as listed on sites as it supports the VC33 processor but the setup will not even allow the usb560M driver for the VC33 part. Any suggestions?

Hi David,

C3x is not supported by any version of Code Composer Studio (CCS). You need to go to the old Code Composer (without the "Studio") (CC) line that pre-dates CCS to find a release that supports C3x. CC v4.10.36 pre-dates CCS v1.0.

I don't ever recall the Blackhawk 560M supporting the old CC product. The information on their webpage only goes as far back a CCS v2.2 and does not mention the C3x as one of the devices they support.

Are you certain that you once had an environment that use a BH 560m with C3x?

Yes, we are sure that we had it working, it is the only emulator we have for it, but I am not sure of driver installed for the blackhawk. We have Code Composer without the Studio, "code composer CC'c3x-'c4x, 4.10.36" that supports the processor. I will wait to hear back from Blackhawk to see what they say for driver.
