CCS/TMS320F28379D: CCS Example Project Import

Hi,

I'm new to CCS. For a project at my university, I need read out some sensor values using the aforementioned controller. but my first problem lies within CCS. If I import an example project, lets say the gpio_setup from the resource explorer and change the code, delete it and want to start from scratch, downloading the gpio_setup again, the changes I made still appear, (with all the corresponding errors :D).

And yes I checked the "would you like to delete the project from disk" option, I even deleted the whole workspace and ti folder from my user folder and restarted the computer afterwards. The changes still reappear after the new import.

Am I wrong with the assumption, that the resource explorer is a "window" to the examples provided by TI and that i can't differ them in any way??? What is happening?

The issue is that most of the source files for that example (or for C2000Ware examples in general) are linked. When you modify those linked files, you are modifying the original version of it in your C2000Ware installation. Hence when you delete your project and reimport it, the new imported project is still going to reference the same versions of the file from your C2000Ware installation that you modified

See the Note in the section referenced above:

"Since linked files actually reside in a location outside the project folder, be aware that editing these files will modify the file not only for the current project but also for any other project that links to the same file. This is especially important when working with TI software packages and SDKs that may share source files among multiple projects."
