PMP11670: How to modify PMP11670 to 4.2A/5A total output (2.1A/2.5A each port) ?

Hi,

May I know how to modify PMP11670 to 4.2A/5A total output (2.1A/2.5A each port) ? 

Current design is 2.0A (port1) +1.5A (port2).  

Since LM73605RNPR already outputs 5A, is changing TPS2549IRTERQ1 sufficient ?

    Yes you can modify the TPS2549 circuit. It's maximum current is 3.2A. You will need to adjust the programmed current limit.

    Another option is LMR14050-Q1, but it is non-synchronous. You would need to include a diode rectifier. The efficiency of this solution would not be great.

    You can try increasing the switching frequency of LM73605-Q1. This will allow you to use a smaller inductance and the inductor size and cost should go down. Be careful with the increasing power dissipation in FETs + Inductor as the frequency increases.
