How can I import the RC4580 into Tina?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RC4580, TINA-TI

Hi,

this is Sam from Germany. Im trying to put the RC4580 into Tina, but i don't know how it works. Maybe somebody can help me. On the RC4580-page aren't a .tsm file for adding a new makro or .tsc file for putting the amplifier into Tina.

  • Sam,
You can use TINA's New Macro Wizard to import a Pspice-compatible netlist into TINA and in turn create a dedicated TINA macro (.TSM).

The steps to do this are given in an applications note available on the TINA-TI home page. The title is "Importing a SPICE NetList into TINA9-TI". The literature number is SLVA527.

To get a copy of the app note please go to the TINA-TI home page URL and scroll half-way down the page to "Importing a SPICE NetList into TINA9-TI". The URL is http://www.ti.com/tool/tina-ti

Alternatively, the direct URL path to the document is:
    www.ti.com/.../getliterature.tsp

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi John,

thanks for answering my question! :-) If I put the .lib file into Netlist Editor and press "Compile"-Button, I get an Error.

I made a screenshot for visualization. How can I fix this Error?

  • Sam,
A colleague pointed out some important factors I have overlooked.

The model is an encrypted Hspice model. Even if the model was unencrypted, Hspice syntax is not supported by TINA.
Unfortunately the existing model cannot be made to work in TINA.
A TINA-compatible model can be requested by your local TI sales rep or field engineer.

Apologies for sending you down a non-useful path. I should have looked at the model more closely.

    Regards,
    John
