PMP10020: Getting three seprate Grounds in PMP10020 design

Part Number: PMP10020

Dear All,

One of my customer interested in design PMP10020 design, we could see all the three O/P as isolated in parametrics table which is mentioned in PMP10020 main page - but if we open actual schematics - we could  see one O/p as isolated, other two outputs have same ground, can we get three separate grounds by changing the design. If yes means how t do it? kindly advise.

  • Hi Aravind,

On the design, saying the outputs are isolated means isolated from the input.

Your understanding of two isolated outputs from each other is correct.  If you want all three isolated, you would need to disconnect the transformer between pins 8 and 9, connect pin 8 to the different ground and the output components.  If you want to maintain the same output voltages, you would need to change the turns ratio.

    Any questions, let me know.

    Thanks,

    Robert
