TIDA-00254: DLP4500 vs DLP4500NIR

I saw that there is a NIR version of the DLP4500 DMD. Does the TIDA-00254 reference design also work with the DLP4500NIR DMD? Is it possible to replace the DMD or purchase the NIR version of the reference design?
