PMP9638: EMC data and output handling

Hi,

Customer of mine is designing USB charging adaptor using the PMP9638 reference design.

I've the following questions:

  • Does TI have the EMC data for PMP9638?
  • If customer do not want to use 3.3V output Can they just unmount all the components (diode, cap, resistor..etc) at 3.3Vout?

    Hi,

    This is Sheng-Yang, the designer of PMP9638.

    I didn't tested EMI for PMP9638. It is very likely you need to add additional EMI filters (at least a common mode choke and a x-cap) to pass EMI.

    Yes, if the customer only needs one output, they can just unmount the 3.3V rail components and adjust the resistor divider value (R11 and R18).

    If the output voltage level difference between the desired voltage level and what I have on PMP9638, the customer will need to redesign the transformer and output rail circuitry.
