TIDA-01541: Question on use of the AMC1311

Part Number: TIDA-01541
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1311,

Hello,

I am trying to understand the input circuitry on the two AMC1311 parts (U12 and U15) used in TIDA-01541. In both cases, the SHTDN pin (pin 3) is connected to part of the input differential filter. I would expect that the SHTDN pin is connected directly to ground. Can you explain why the SHTDN pin is used in the input signal path?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello Jonathan,

The input to the AMC1311 is single ended and thus will require only a single ended RC filter. R82 can be made zero ohm and the SHTDN pin gets connected directly to VDC-. The SHTDN pin has to be connected to GND of the device unless you would like to use it for any fault signal.

    Regards,
    Pawan
