Possible DP83825I datasheet typos

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83825I

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but there appear to be a number of errors in the DP83825I Ethernet Phy datasheet. Not unexpected for something so new.

I think the value labeled T2 in Fig 5 should be labeled T4.

based on the text:

The text of bit 5 in table 8 appears to be wrong:

I apologize if this is not the proper place to post such things.

  • Hi David,

    - It is T2 in RMII Timing table as shown in Figure 5.

    - The description of bit 5 in table 8 should be as follows:

    5 Auto-Negotiation Complete RO 0 Auto-Negotiation Complete:
    1 = Auto-Negotiation process completed
0 = Auto Negotiation process not completed (either still in process, disabled or reset)

  • Hi Nguyen,

So are you agreeing that the value labeled T2 in Fig 5 should really be labelled T4? I should mention that Fig 4 also has a value labeled T2 that seems to agree with the text.

It's important since I need to configure the FPGA input delays for RX_D, RX_ER and CRS_DV. If T2 is the correct label in Fig 5 I have no way to do that since it only has a MIN value.

    Thanks,
    Dave
  • Hi David,

In Fig5, it is clear that T2 should be labelled as T4. The description of T2 and T4 is for TX pins (RMII Transmit) and RX pins (RMII Receive), respectively.

  • Hello Nguyen,

You've been extremely helpful. I now have the chip working with an FPGA and it is a great fit for our application. My only concern now is will it be in production in the next few months.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Note: please feel free to correct me if I'm getting your name backwards.
  • Hi Dave,

I'm not in the position to disclose our production schedule. Please contact sales or marketing team.

I will go ahead and close this thread. If you need further technical support, kindly open a new thread.
