TIDA-01420: TIDA-01420 to delfino board. Example code not found

Hey all,

does anyone try to run the TIDA-01420 reference design?

I already made it, but unfortunatelly there is no example/training code and also in the key document for the desing TI uses some "adapter PCB" between the board and the delfino TMDSCNCD28379D board.

does anybody have an idea where i can find more info about this board?

I have the delfino board and also i have dock station for it, but there is no info( sheme) how to connect the both boards.

Anyone can help???

    Dear Dan,

    thank you for your interest in TIDA-01420 and even re-building that TIDA-01420 board yourself.

    The adapter board was an internal board used only for testing the functionality of the power stage. The same adapter board was also used with the TI design TIDA-01455 www.ti.com/tool/tida-01455. For details on the adapter PCB like schematics, Altium CAD files, please refer to the Design Files folder of TIDA-01455. It is included in the corresponding zip files.

    On firmware: For TIDA-01420 (neither TIDA-01455) we do not have ready to use C2000 firmware available. I would recommend download the C2000 Motor Control SDK at: http://www.ti.com/tool/download/C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK and adapt a code example like "tmdxiddk379d" to the corresponding power stage, such as TIDA-01420. If you have specific questions on C2000 Motor Control SDK and related software, you can also leverage the C2000 E2E forum.

    thanks for your quick repply. It is very helpfull and i'm going to follow your opinion.

    As a last question, from the provided link i can see that the C2000Ware motor control sdk supports the F28004X devices. is it possible to use the TMDXCNCD280049M instead of TMDXIDDK379D?

    Dear Dan,

    I'm glad we could help. Yes, for testing TIDA-01420 (3-phase PWM generation and current/voltage sensing with isolated delta sigma modulators AMC1306) you can use the www.ti.com/.../TMDSCNCD280049C controlCARD too. Of course please consider the differences between this device versus the TMS320F28379D in MIPS, number of cores, Flash/RAM, number of peripherals, etc., like the TMS320F280049C has four Sigma-Delta Filter Module (SDFM) Input Channels (Two Parallel Filters per Channel), while the TMS320F28379D has 8 input channels.
