TIDA-00951: TI Designs: TIDA-00951

Part Number: TIDA-00951

hI!
I would like to make battery charger by applying TIDA-00951 product.
** Battery charger specifications
 - Input voltage is input from solar panel (about 50VDC).
 - Input current is about 40A.
 - The battery charge voltage (output voltage) is about 400VDC, and the output current is about 6A.
There are two modes of "BACKUP SUPPLY MODE" and "BATTERY CHARGER" in the manual of TIDA-00951.

1. Is it possible if I want to charge the battery with "BACKUP SUPPLY MODE" (as opposed to TI Designs)?
2. If item 1 is available, please explain in detail how it is possible.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.
(** I would appreciate your reply in my email.(marutop1@naver.com))
  • Hi,

It is definitely possible to do that. You will need to make the changes in the firmware to do so.
Also as you will not be using the Bi-Directional feature. You can replace the High voltage mosfets with UF or SiC diodes and simplify your design.

    Best Regards,
    Ram
