PMP7756: CS pull high to REF question

Part Number: PMP7756

Hi Sir,

Could you let me know why need CS pin pull high to REF (PMP7756 reference design)? Thanks~

Best Regards,

Sam

  • Hello Sam

I don't have access to the original design files but I think this resistor has been added to modify the OCP and soft-start process. CS1 is grounded so if there is an overcurrent condition detected at CS2 the system will go into hiccup mode. The pull up resistor adds an offset of approximately 250mV so that only an additional 250mV is needed across the CS resistors to trigger the OCP hiccup event. One effect of this is that a lower value of current sense resistor can be used.
