TIDA-010015: Resonant capacitor C2 design clarification

Hi,

Good day!!!

According to your calculation, the resonant capacitance=94nF. But can I know how C2(47nF) and C3(47nF) can be taken as parallel connection. Because C2 and C3 have a common node and the other end of C3 is grounded while the other end of C2 is connected to 390V_DC.

Can you please explain the resonant capacitance (Cr) calculation?

Hi VEERAMANI ,

Thanks for your interesting in TIDA-010015.

There is two types of half bridge LLC topo: Symmetrical Half Bridge and.

And the capacitor value of Symmetrical Half Bridge is half of the value of the Asymmetrical Half Bridge.

For the resonant capacitor Cr calculation, there is a calculator on ti.com: http://www.ti.com/product/UCC256301/toolssoftware.

You can download the ZIP file and extract it, then you can calculate all the key device' value.
