Part Number: TIDA-00288
Hello, we are currently in the process of incorporating the TIDA-00288 (TUSB8041) to a few different projects.
Looking at the TIDA-00288 reference schematics pins 33 and 32 on the TUSB8041 (EN_PORT3 & EN_PORT4) are not connected to anything. why is that?
pins 35 and 36 (EN_PORT1 & EN_PORT2) are connected to the TPS2003C, but why are pins 33 and 32 not connected to the two TPS2546?
Thanks,
Avi
Hi Avi,
This is an older design and it looks like they wanted to showcase the battery charging capabilities of the TPS2546 devices on these ports including DCP charging. DCP charging would be enabled when the upstream port is disconnected, under typical conditions the hub would disable the port power control in that case so instead they pulled the enables high to keep the TPS2546 devices on.

JMMN
