PMP6672: Evaluation of TPS23754 in PMP6672

Part Number: PMP6672
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS23754, , TPS23754EVM-420, TPS23754EVM-383

Hi,

I'm in the process of deciding on PoE IC supplier for a new project. In order to test the TI TPS23754 I'd like to connect it with our preferred PoE injector, preferably in the PMP6672 design.

Is there a way to get access to this design (or a similar one) without having to implement everything around the TPS23754 from scratch?

Best regards,

Børge

  • Berge, hello and thank you for your interest in Texas Instruments' reference designs.  Your inquiry has been received and forwarded to our Power Design Services team.  Your question has come in while we are on Thanksgiving holiday.  The team will be back in the office on Monday, December 2nd.  You should be hearing from us then.

    Best Regards,

    J. Fullilove

  • PMP6672 is the same design as the TPS23754EVM-420, with a few changes made to improve the efficiency.  There is a new flyback transformer, synchronous FET and the delay timing has been adjusted.  This results in a 3-4% improvement in efficiency.  PMP6672 is assembled on the TPS23754EVM-420 PCB, so the operation of the TPS23754 should be the same for either board.  We don't keep stock on the PMP6672 board.  The TPS23754EVM-420 is available on the TI Store and will be the quickest way to get a board to test.

    Thanks,

    David Strasser

  • Thank you David,

When I go to that page, it turns out that the TPS23754EVM-383 is more like what I need, so I'll go for that one.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
