PSPICE-FOR-TI: TPS69300 has zero output voltage

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63900

Hi Team,

A customer tried to simulate TPS69300 on PSpice-for-TI simulation based on the typical application circuit from the datasheet, but the output is zero, when it should be 1.8V. Do we have a working simulation we can share to the customer?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo - I assume you meant the TPS63900, not TPS69300 - please confirm - thanks, Jim

  • Hi Jim,

The customer confirmed that the part number is TPS63900.

    Regards,

    Danilo

  • Hi Danilo:

May I know where customer download the model? And please share the documents with me.

I checked the model in the TPS63900 product page, and got 1.2V Vout successfully using original configuration.

  • Hi Minqui,

Thank you for your quick response.

I have asked the customer to use the model of TPS63900 from the product page and here is his feedback.

"I used the model from the link that you sent, and I am getting the same result. If I run the model without any modifications, I also get a 1.2 volt output. I want to simulate the TPS63900 with the configuration pins set for a 3.3 Volt output. Does the model support the configuration pins? When I connect any of voltage configuration pins with resistors to ground, I get errors and the simulation does not run. The original file I sent you is an example of this. I also notice that the datasheet says that the voltage configuration pins should not be left open (page 3, in the pin function table), however, in the example circuit that TI provides the pins are all open. I'm surprised that Vout is 1.2, and not 5 with open pins. Please send an example simulation of the TPS63900 set for 3.3 volts output and maximum current."

Here is a copy of the file that the customer shared with me.

    Regards,

    Danilo

  • Hi Danilo:

The TPS63900 pspice model didn't model the CFG pins. It's noted in the model page as "The functionality of CFG1, CFG2,CFG3 pins are not modeled and the pins are kept floating."

If customer want to change the output voltage, they can change the parameter "Vo1", "Vo2".
