PMP9282: PMP9282 on the reference design Optocoupler pin not connect to any flag

Part Number: PMP9282
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5022

I have three questions.

1. On the reference design Optocoupler (U2) (Optp_E_GND) not connected to any flag (Picture attached) and 1N4148W-7-F (Vout) not connected.

2. Should I solder the DNP components?. Could please explain why DNP components are shown in the reference design.

3. Any alternative for PA3855.005NL? Because currently no manufacture.

Thank You,

  • Hi Karthikeyan S,

Thanks for reaching out with your question and for considering the LM5022 in your design.

    Please see my responses below.

    1. The emitter of the opto-coupler should be connected to ground of the primary side. R17 is connected to VOUT

    2. DNP indicates that the components should not be populated. This means that the components will not need soldered on.

    3.  the transformer (PA3855.005) is still available to purchase. I was able to find it a few vendors.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

    Garrett
