Driving AO2 CITICELL with circuit of TIAD00854 file

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP91000, TIDA-00854

Hello dear,

I want to do a project with AO2 CITICELL Company sensor.
This sensor electrochemically supports the range 0 to 100% oxygen.

Due to the appropriate R LOAD introduced in the data sheet of this sensor (10 kΩ), it is not possible to use the LMP91000 IC to set up this sensor.
Is it possible to use the suggested equivalent circuit in the TIDA-00854 file
(www.ti.com/.../tiduc74b.pdf
to set up electrochemical sensors (especially the AO2 CITICELL sensor)?

  • Dear Mohsen -

The LMP91000 provides for specific load internally, as you have seen, and has a list of supported O2 sensors in the GUI sensor database. The Citicell datasheet for the sensor you are wanting to use unfortunately does not have much detail and neither does their website, so I think if you want to choose from the sensors that are known to be supported, that is one option for you, or you could reach out to the sensor vendor and ask them for a circuit connection diagram to assist further in your application.

  • This sensor (AO2 Citicel) on its website (www.citytech.com) does not suggest any configure circuit and because of External Load Resistor 10 kΩ Minimum in the datasheet (https://www.citytech.com/en -gb / PDF-Datasheets / ao2.pdf), this resistor is not supported by LMP91000. Do you suggest a way to configure this sensor(AO2 Citicel 0-100% range)?

  • Mohsen -

In this case, i think you should choose a different sensor or reach out to City Tech for their recommendations, for the AO2 sensor they offer.
