TPS55340: Design cannot be created for TPS55340

Hi Team,


I would like to get assistance why the values below of our customer is cannot generate a design in Webench for TPS55340:
Vin, min. = 6V
Vin, max. = 24V
Vout = 16V
Iout = 1.2A

I also tried the values on page 22 in the datasheet since the customer will implement a SEPIC application and also cannot generate a design.

Can you confirm if TPS55340 still a good choice for the customer requirement above as this is within the range of TPS55340 but cannot work in Webench tool?

    Hi Jonathan,

    Thank you for posting.  Since your max input is 24V, and your output is 16V, you simply exceed the TPS55340's max voltage rating at the switch node: 40V.  In SEPIC, the SW voltage is VIN+VOUT, and you also need some margin. 

    Please consider the LM5157, which are sampling now but we do not have the Webench model ready.  The LM5157 has 50V rating at the SW and it can support this case.
